My review:

I loved this book so much and I felt how the author left her own signature, or personal touch as one may say, throughout the whole story because it was so obvious that music is her passion as well as writing and she perfectly mixed them together in this fantastic book.

Her stories pull me in and I always get so lost in them that I'm surprised every time when I reach the end because they always feel so real and I could read forever about her characters and never tire of them. Our Song was such a beautiful story that made me laugh so much. I adored the characters and even cried a couple of times when my heart ached for them. This was yet another beautiful book of hers that touched my heart deeply.
'Every female has her eye on a certain bad boy, that one guy she couldn't dream of actually doing anything with but loves to admire from afar.'
You know when you feel all giddy with excitement as if there are a thousand butterflies in your stomach?! Kind of when you meet your first love and get sweaty hands because you’re so nervous. That’s how this story made me feel. I was on cloud no.9 and felt like meeting my first and one true rock star love and idol. There are no words to do this feeling any justice and I can only urge you to read this book. I’m sure that if you love music as much as I do, you’ll absolutely enjoy this.
'Music might have been the cause of my pain, but it was still my doctor, my therapy, and my lifeline.'
The Story:
Sarah always wanted to be a singer and touch people’s hearts with her songs. But one tragic night ended it all. That’s how she found herself teaching at a kindergarten in her small and quiet home town until a pretty little girl with pigtails attends her class and turns Sarah’s world upside down. The world she left behind came crashing back when she met the little girl’s father, a man she admired for years from afar.
'I might be a kindergarten teacher, but inside is someone dying to be heard, to make a difference, the way Adam has through music.'
Thoughts:
I adored Cailin and was so surprised by her dad’s character who was such an amazing father, down to earth and all around easy going person at home. I absolutely understood his need to feel normal around Sarah and not like the rock star that he was. I actually liked him even better for that. He was only a human being seeking acceptance, like-minded people and someone who saw him as a man and not the person he represented on stage. Because no matter how great his bandmates were, this lifestyle of his could make a person feel very lonely and he wanted to find someone to confide in.

I was in awe of how well he handled it all alone, to protect and care for his daughter while being torn between two worlds that he loved, his music and his kid. He did everything for Cailin and I loved their interaction with each other. They were so cute. Cailin was such a sweet and smart little girl and I loved how happy and content she was even with her dad being gone for weeks.

Although I eventually understood the fear of Sarah’s father for her, I never thought a man like him could be so harsh towards his daughter and judge people because of their profession, taste in music and overall different lifestyle. I know he was an old-school pastor but I really felt sorry for Sarah who was hurting because of his disappointment in her. She couldn't even be herself in this small town with people who judged someone on their appearance and life choices, so it was even sadder that her dad didn’t have her back. It made me sick how people didn’t even want to get to know a person before they started judging one.

But coming back to the good feelings this story made me feel. I melted into a puddle of goo around Adam because he was such an amazing guy. I was so jittery and really felt Sarah’s nervousness around him. I would totally be fangirling too.
P.S.: The scenes in the recording studio were some of my favorites, as well as chapter 13.
'I think there's nothing sexier than a man with a low-slung guitar, playing so easily without even watching what he's doing.'
The sexual tension between the characters was off the charts and I loved how it just clicked between them from the very beginning. There was magic in the air. I also liked Sarah’s crazy friend Maggie, the voice of reason *haha*, as well as Adam’s bandmates.

This book couldn’t have been any more perfect than it already was.

by A.M. Hargrove
Series: West Sisters #2
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: September 5th, 2019
Photographer: Eric David Battershell; Model: Parker Ramsay

Blurb:

The first time I saw Alessandro, two things came to mind.
Sexy and naked.
You get the idea.

Thanks to him, my flight from hell became the best one I’d ever been on.
Turned out, the engaging, gorgeous passenger, was my new professor…and the ultimate jerk.

Rude, prick, cocksucker, were a few choice names I’d love to call him.
How was this offensive man the same human I’d met on the plane?

His soul must’ve been invaded by demons after leaving the airport.
To think I’d almost joined the mile high club with him. Almost.
Everywhere I went he was there raining more insults on me.

Until I saw him with his adorable mini look-alike.
That charming little boy melted my heart.
Before I knew it, I’d accepted his son’s invitation to play soccer.

What the hell was I thinking?
I hated that man.

But naked and sexy had gotten me into this mess.
And not even hate could get me out.

My review:

I absolutely loved this story! I have a soft spot for Italians and I instantly grew fond of Gabriele.

What a fantastic story and great read. I was so glad that it wasn't the usual professor/student story with age gap and fraternization drama. Well, of course it was somewhat a topic here but one of the smaller ones compared to the thrilling main ones.

There was a lot going on in this story that captured me from start to finish. First off was their sexy encounter on the plane. Then, after they found out that he was her professor, they ran hot and cold what with their physical attraction but forbidden nature of it as well as other secret reasons.

Gabriele, Alessandro’s kid, was so hilarious with his constant questioning. I really laughed a lot during this read, which was one of the reasons why I loved it so much.
I also admired how patient Alessandro as well as Piper answered all his noisy questions. This kiddo was so much fun. The author really knows how to create such lovely, cheery and very fun personalities. He was a very important part of the book and I really adored him.

Alessandro was a great guy but closed off to women for a reason. Though Piper slowly found a way into his heart without him realizing it, until it was too late for him to ever let her go.

The story had some thrilling twists and dramatic moments that nearly had my heart jumping out of my chest and made the story feel much more fast paced. At times I also thought that the story jumped from moment to moment which added to the feel of a very quick read. But it didn’t stop there because the characters stepped up a notch too with how they rushed through all kinds of relationship stages while still being strangers. In other words, the book was unputdownable and I finished reading it in no time.

Apart from the grumpy Alessandro and overdramatic and seemingly desperate Piper in the beginning, I personally didn’t know what to think about the generous hospitality towards Piper and her family from strangers. I know there really are people like that but it’s just not me. So, while it felt a bit weird for me, I tried to overlook it because I loved the rest of the book so much.

To sum it up, this story covered a lot of emotions, from hilarious to sweet and suspenseful to heartbreaking ones, there’s everything included and all one could want from a great book.
