About the author:

Belle Aurora is twenty seven years old and was born in the land down under. At an early age she fell in love with reading. Boredom one summer had her scouring the bookshelves at home. She stumbled across Sandra Brown's Breath of Scandal and fell in love with romance. Having been brought up in a loud and boisterous family of Croatian descent, she developed a natural love for dramatics and humor. Only some years ago had she discovered a new love.
Humorous romance novels.
Kristen Ashley and R.L. Mathewson had opened a brand new world where she could lose herself yet feel safe and at home in their stories. Belle has been known to become a screeching banshee while anxiously awaiting their newest titles. Belle never thought she would write. It had never interested her until recently. Friend-Zoned began to form and in February 2013 Belle typed the words Chapter One. And she fell in love.
With words. With writing.  With a creative imagination she never knew she harbored.
Friend-Zoned is the first in the Friend-Zoned series. Keep an eye out for this cheeky author.

My review:

This book! OMG! I loved it!! Ya know, after the first book (which I absolutely loved btw) I just thought, well fuck, what a bullshit ending. Because I didn't know the story will continue and I just loved Twitch so much. (I must be a lunatic because Twitch isn’t a guy you’d normally wish for.)
Anyway, this book wasn't just the story of Jay and Alejandra but also about Twitch and that crazy bitch Ling.
I loved Twitch all over again with his cocky attitude. It was freaking hilarious sometimes.

I had the feeling that the story of Julius and Alejandra got a bit lost along the lines but I was giddy when it picked up again even though I didn't like Alejandra that much. The first book of this series was better IMHO although too different to be compared with this one. I had to get used to the different POV's in this book at first because every time I was engrossed in the story the change of POV messed up with me and I lost track of the story. I absolutely loved reading Twitch's POV because he made me smile and swoon. I also loved Julius but Twitch is my number one.

The Story:
Alejandra had to make a sacrifice for her family as her father made her understand how everyone has to make scarifies in life and she would be helping her family in marrying Dino Gambino. It's important to join these two families for the truce that's necessary to keep the peace and safety that comes with it.
Her marriage was picture-perfect to the outside world but a living hell behind the closed doors of her home. Being abused and manhandled, hurt, punished and suppressed she lived in fear of her husband though that hasn't always been the case since he was like her best friend before the marriage.
When an opportunity offered itself she took it and had no remorse in using other people to get what she longed for so long. Freedom. But freedom comes with a price. It's about life or death. Can she outrun her persecutor, the executioner?
Julius never gets anything wrong but it seemed this time he fucked up and there is just one way to rectify this mess. Eye for an eye. Gio or rather the Gambino family seeks revenge and blood because Alejandra turned on her husband and now they are after her. Can Julius get to her first before Gio finds her? Can he sort out this mess before it gets worse?

Thoughts:
I love, love, love this story. The ending was the best or rather it made me long for more. I loved all the different characters but I had a problem with Alejandra’s because I couldn’t really warm up to her. Despite all the horrid stuff she had to endure in her marriage I thought for a long time that she was a snake for ratting her man out like that. But as the story continued I got angrier at that asshole and what he'd done to her.

I honestly felt bad for Dino at some point because of what I gathered from Alejandra he was paranoid, which was surely a result of his family and their lifestyle as they always had to prove themselves and could never show any weakness or otherwise they'd likely be replaced quickly. By no means does this right his wrongs but I felt bad for an obviously young nice guy to end like this.
His brother Gio though can rot in hell.

Alejandra got more annoying with each turning page - don’t get me wrong she went through horrible stuff and I would have died a thousand deaths by now if I was her but she could never make up her mind. She wanted to run, then she wanted to seduce Julius but in the next moment she was scared and wanted to die. She was desperate and I understood why but it was just getting on my nerves that she constantly changed her mind and also her attitude. She didn't know who she was without her husband and it confused and annoyed me when she acted like a brat. That's also why I never felt a real connection between her and Julius though I loved him even with his flaws.

I don't know if Alejandra can ever be healed from her wounds not only physically but mentally. She had to endure so much. Poor one. I don’t want to sound mean but I hoped for Julius to find himself a strong, confident and sweet woman and I felt like Alejandra is just too broken for him.

Despite everything I mentioned above I can't wait for the next book!!! Twitch + Lexi! Yeah!! =) I don’t want to spoil anything so I can’t really rave about what I hope for in the next book but as long as Twitch is present I’m happy.
I'm so happy about the ending of this book. I hope we get to see a few of the characters again in the next book and I definitely want a HEA! Please!! I don’t know this author well so I don’t know how she will end this trilogy but I hope for the best.

Book Review: For the Love of English by A.M. Hargrove

I love A.M. Hargrove’s books. I've read a few of hers already and after I’ve read the blurb of this one I knew I had to get my hands on it. And let me tell you, I did not get disappointed.

The Story:
Sheridan is English's teacher and when she gets to know her student’s dad, she can't believe what an absolute jackass he is to her while he’s so lovely to his daughter. Beckley Bridges raised his daughter English alone with the help from his parents since she got dropped in front of his doorstep while she was still a baby, left there in a little box with only a note from her birth mother. English is Becks whole life and he is devastated when he learns that her mother suddenly wants to be a part in her life again. This wouldn't be so bad when she had good intentions but something about this woman just rubs him the wrong way. Beck would do anything to keep his daughter safe and when he drops a question at Sheridan about something every woman wants to hear from the man they love the most, she can't believe her ears because this guy was anything but a jerk to her in the past. Why would she even consider what he asks?

Thoughts:
I really enjoyed this story a lot even though it could have been a bit shortened - just by a chapter or two. It still had a good reading flow and I devoured it in almost one go. I would absolutely love to read about the characters’ lives again in one of this author’s next books.

I liked the characters though the sudden mention of marriage did not seem to be a big problem to neither Beck nor Sheridan, which bothered me a bit. I really liked that Beck wasn't an easy guy in the beginning though he changed rather quickly in a short time. I mean, they didn't even knew each other that well and I thought it was strange for him to just spit it out like that and although she was not head over heels at first it still seemed to me like it wasn't too much of a problem in the end for her. I personally think it's a huge deal and I wish there was a bit more going on here. I also found it rather strange that Beck had no other female friends or even female company in the last few years in his life that he could have considered asking.

It was refreshing that not everything was easy in this story but I found that the marriage thing happened too quickly and that the characters fell really fast for each other – even though a few weeks passed but we didn't really get to enjoy the small gestures that had them warm up to each other, especially because she didn't like him in the beginning due to his rudeness. Even though he was good looking I didn't like that they had the hots for each other so soon. I would have hoped for some more hate or resent while going into the marriage and not instantly getting it on. Especially because it felt so weird for me that they kissed and had sex but never talked about anything this marriage would bring with it, they just jumped into it without thinking it through and I wish there was more awkwardness before they were intimate. I didn’t really care for English and I never understood how she could call Sheridan Mommy right away.
But enough of my ramblings, I still enjoyed the story a lot.

My Review:

I absolutely enjoyed this lighthearted, fun and generally wonderful story.

The Story:
Hayden loves his job as a firefighter. He worked hard to be where he is right now in his life without any help from his father or the influence behind his family's name Walker. His father on the other hand still counts on Hayden to get into politics even though he has no intention in doing so.

Saylor has always lived a rather normal life despite her mum being a famous actress. She was shielded from the media and has lived a private life thanks to her mum, which did a good job in protecting Saylor from the press and keeping her out of the spotlight even when it meant being separated from her mum most of the time.
Her father was always present – in the media at least – but he didn't take part in her life. He is in politics and spends his free time with his family, the one she doesn't belong to because she was just a dark secret that happened back when her mum was young and lived a rather carefree and careless life.

Hayden and Saylor meet at their friends’ wedding and hit it off pretty quickly. What a pity though that Hayden doesn’t remember what happened in Tijuana and Saylor just doesn't know how to tell him that they're married. The more time they spend together without her telling him, she's scared that he would be angry at her for lying to him and she doesn't want to lose him because she likes him a lot.

Thoughts:
This was an absolutely enjoyable read. I loved the characters Saylor and Hayden because they were unique IMO. Saylor was quirky in a shy way – which probably doesn’t make sense at all if you haven’t read the book – but she was really lovely and her way to talk was just particular.
Hayden reminded me of myself when it came to his way of keeping the people he loved safe. Even though he didn't want to go into politics and follow in his father's path he couldn't really tell him no because it seemed to me he didn't want to hurt him. He cared about his family and he also cared about Saylor. He was protective, attentive and passionately sweet. Personally though I would have gone crazy with someone I can't argue with. No matter what happened he never lost control of his temper even though I counted on it until the very end. It’s probably because he knew how to keep his calm due to his job where he had to be in control and stay calm even in the worst case.

I struggled just a tiny bit at first to get into the story but it was so lovely written that I got the hang of it pretty fast. There were some certain decisions made by the characters which I couldn’t quite understand and a few things just didn’t work for me which got me thinking too much and losing my concentration on the story a few times especially in the first half of the book. Other than that did I really love this book especially the epilogue.

My review:

I absolutely loved the first book of this series Chasing Butterflies and I was really excited for Chance's story.
Chance was one of the best guys though Kelley had set the bar damn high that it's almost impossible to reach up to him but Chance came really close.

The Story:
Brie is a rather normal and down to earth girl, nothing compared to those blond, tall and skinny girls that will stop at nothing to catch one of the gorgeous football players. Due to the pressure of her family of doctors Brie plans to focus solely on her studies though after having met Chance she can't seem to forget him. When he broke her heart she had an even harder time moving on and now it seems he is determined to get her back.

Chance had his heart broken once by his long-time now ex-girlfriend and doesn't plan on getting into something serious soon again. Though when he sees Brie he is attracted to her in a way he can't ignore.
When he had hurt her, a couple of years back, he learned that he can't live without her and is determined to get her back. Life isn't always easy and Chance has a rather hard path to walk on but Brie is his silver lining.
Will Chance get his second chance?

Thoughts:
Chance was such a great character. He was smart, sexy and determined when it came to what he wanted. He was a real gentleman even though he had some tough stuff going on in his life and my heart broke for him a few times. Everything felt so real and that's thanks to the author's amazing writing. She knows how to bring her characters to life on the paper.

I don't know why but I struggled in the beginning to get into the story and it wasn't until 35% into it that I finally got captured by Chance's story. Brie was a character that I liked in the first book but I couldn't warm up to her in this story until almost the end. Her life didn't really interest me and that was a real pity because she was a lovely girl.

The story was still – as I was used to from Terri's previous books – well written and I enjoyed reading about all the other characters we already got to know in the first book. The whole gang was present in this story and I hope they will all get their own book at one point. What ultimately captured me in this story was Chance's background and the stuff that happened in his life. I'm a highly sensitive person and it broke my heart to read about his family's story. Chance is a guy you wish that'd really exist and better yet be a part in your life.

This book was about making the best of your life no matter the ugly stuff that'd happen and what better way to get through the tough times than with your friends who always have your back. Love is strong enough to survive a lot that life throws your way and even when you don't grab the opportunities the first time they offer themselves sometimes you get a second chance even when you have to work hard for them. But it's always absolutely worth it in the end because you know what you've lost the first time and you don't take for granted that you've gotten a second chance and that's why you hold on even tighter.

I highly recommend this bittersweet yet lovely story and especially this series. Even though this book can be read as a standalone I would suggest to start with the first book because first it’s an amazing book and second you get introduced to the secondary characters which also appear in this second book and both stories overlap at some point which would give away spoilers if you would read the second book first.

My Review:

SOOO GOOOD!

This book brought me to tears a few times just to have me laughing it right off shortly after.

No words of mine could do this book justice that's why I'll keep it short because I could gush over this book the whole day but what purpose does it serve? Just get yourself a copy and read it. It's definitely worth it!

I usually love to highlight special moments in my e-books but in this story I wanted to highlight everything, it was that good.

The Story:
When Katherine collapses in Panic, the club where her sister is having her engagement party, Nico just wants her out of his club because it seems like she is just another junkie on its way to ruin this club's already bad reputation. Nico has enough experience with drug addicts like her, always on the lookout for their next fix or already stoned.
Since Katie's passed out in his arms he has no other choice but to bring her home and can't help but notice how beautiful she is.
Katherine is mortified that he thinks she's a drug addict and wants to tell him about her panic attacks to ease her mind, though would he even believe her?

Thoughts:
This book has all the feels. I had high expectations because the beautiful cover (Oh I love it so much!) caught my attention at first and the blurb just didn't let me go until I've read this book. And what can I say, it did not disappoint!

I absolutely loved this book. The writing was captivating and I just couldn't put the book down. I've read it almost in one go though a few times I had to pause and take a deep breath. I'm absolutely sure that this story will touch a lot of people's hearts with its honesty and rawness.

Fear is a feeling that everyone experiences in their life though everybody on a different level of anxiety. It broke my heart reading about Katherine's severeness of her panic attacks and anxiety disorder. It's not that I've never heard about this before but this was the first book I've read that's dealing with this subject to such an extent. I felt everything Kathrine was going through and it was an really emotional read.

I absolutely loved the characters. Nico was not perfect but felt so real and human and that's what I loved most about him. He was so attentive and caring. Sometimes I thought he was rather harsh at pushing Katie too much but she obviously needed exactly that, someone to push her to the limit and help her in a way no one else ever did before.
I adored Matt and also Geo and David. Every character had their own background which made them so believable and loveable.

Now I need the next book in this series!! It's about Matt, isn't it?! =))) I hope it is and we don't have to wait too long for it!!

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

Critics have dubbed the books "poetic," "literary," and "hauntingly atmospheric," which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she's some sort of braggart who's too good to chop a cord of wood.
If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

To many, I am little more than a myth. The Kiss of Death, a hired killer, revered by the some of the greatest criminal organisations in the world. Trained by the bratva themselves, without conscience, without mercy, the perfect soldier. I’ll kill anyone… for a price. Death doesn’t discriminate, she sells to the highest bidder, but even I have a weakness.

Nero
I want one thing - power. But power is merely a game of strategy. The pieces are on the chess board. Death is my queen, and also my pawn. She’ll paint this city red in exchange for the one thing she wants. Now all I have to do is watch it all play out. She’s nothing more than a weapon, and yet, I find myself wanting to dance with death, to possess her. And I always get what I want.

A game of power. A risk that could cost her everything. An obsession that would see the world burn at their feet. A bloodied king. A broken queen. Kill me or kiss me?

My review:

This was my first read from this author even though I have a few of her books on my tbr-list but I've never gotten 'round to reading one until now. I am glad I finally started reading her books because she got me hooked on this series. Her writing captured me and this story was full of suspense that kept me turning the pages. I loved this book and definitely want more!

The Story:
Una was trained to kill and turned into a deadly weapon, The Kiss of Death. She gets hired to kill though that comes with a price. She is badass and men tend to underestimate her because appearances are deceiving and as a woman you are usually not considered a threat for mafia bosses or any kind of gangsters. But even the strongest have a weakness, and so does this assassin.

All Nero Verdi wants is power and he has a plan to gain more. For his plan he needs Una and he always gets what he wants so it's just a matter of the right leverage over her until she gets him to his goal. No matter the losses on his way to the top.
'He feeds into every element of my nature, stoking the flames of my violence until it's an inferno. We're fire and gasoline the perfect combination, the perfect disaster.'
Thoughts:
To be honest I wasn't a big fan of Nero. He was nothing close to any character I've read so far. He wasn't just bad or evil, he fitted no description because as soon as I thought I'd figured him out he suddenly changed direction and kept me spinning around and wondering what actually just happened.

I didn't have a clue what Nero was going for in this book and this had me confused the whole time. He hired Una for a job and I didn't understand his motivations behind his conditions that came with this job. It also seemed like forever until she finished her job even though she didn't do it the way I thought she would and it was a tad bit dragging at some point. I was also wondering why those evil guys relied on a woman to kill their enemies?! I guess I'm just not used to reading about badass women.
'I don't know how he can make me want to fuck him and slit his throat all in the same breath.'
Anyway I enjoyed the story a lot which was really brutal at some points. Typical mafia probably but I'm just not used to this because I rarely read mafia books. I can't wait to read more about Una and what will happen next especially because this book ends in a huge cliffhanger.
'Now, Irish is English essentially, until two Irish people talk to each other and then it's just noise.'
