What happens when the lights go out in the city that never sleeps?

Games of chance, unexpected situations, and hours of sin!

Thirteen bestselling and award-winning authors are turning up the heat in an anthology featuring brand-new show-stopping stories set in Las Vegas. Roll the dice and get ready to feel the heat!

Night Games by T.K. Leigh:
Note to self: Never agree to play an innocent dice game during a blackout in Vegas. I should have known it wouldn’t remain innocent, not in the city of sin.

Night & Day by Bethany Lopez:
One explosive weekend together nearly ruined them. But, there's no way Simone and Micah can ignore their chemistry when they're alone in the dark.

Close Encounter by Stephanie St. Klaire:
The day started with a quick screw, a couple of quirky two-bit cons and ended with a diabolical serial killer. What do you do when the lights go out? Run.

Absolutely Mine by Terri E. Laine:
I made a promise to stay away from my best friend’s little sister. But it’s Vegas and that’s one promise I’m probably going to break.

Honeymoon Hideaway by Cary Hart:
What’s worse than being locked in room with a vibrating bed and your sworn enemy? Waking up next to him… naked! Did I mention he’s also my boss? Oops.

The Do-Over by Christi Barth:
The best way to move on after being dumped? A hot fling. An even better way? Revenge sex and the chance to turn the tables on the guy who dumped you...

Just Us by J.H. Croix:
Ellie asks me to promise her one thing. We can’t tell her brother about us. Small problem though. One night will never be enough.

Dirty Thoughts by C.A. Harms:
He was the crush I never thought I’d see again. Yet here we were in Vegas, during a total blackout. I figure why not explore all the possibilities, or more like let him explore me?

Hard Luck by K.A. Ware:
Ellis James is my kryptonite, the only person who could drag me back to Vegas after I promised myself I was done with that life. I'd bleed for her, I'd die for her, but can I save her?

Becoming His by K.I. Lynn:
When I slammed into Hollywood heartthrob Reid Gallagher, I never imagined it would turn into a first date I’d never forget. After all, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...right?

Going Down by Lisa Shelby:
She’s the only person I’ve ever loved and I’m the last person she wants to see. She’d hoped to avoid me as much as possible in Vegas, but when we get stuck alone in an elevator, not even she can deny that our chemistry still runs hot.

Blind Faith by Lauren Runow:
I never expected to be locked out of my room basically naked in a total blackout. Thinking that would be the biggest shock of my night was my first mistake.

Book Review: Songs for Cricket by Terri E. Laine

This book took place in the world of the Chasing Butterflies Series but with the younger generation from Sawyer and the gang. I absolutely loved that we’re brought back to the place where everything started, and even though there were now different characters I still felt the lingering presence of Ashton and the others. Especially since the new group took up residence within the walls where Ashton, Sawyer, Chance and Kelley lived while attending Layton University. And now Finn, Sawyer's brother, was there as well! I’m so excited that he gets the chance to be a bigger part of this series because I’ve always loved this guy so much.

The story was told from Finley’s and Shepard’s POV and I adored them already when I first met them briefly in Ashton’s book. Well, I might have been biased with how much I loved them already before I started reading this book but I was confirmed in my love for them during this read.
'It was most certainly time for me to move on from childhood fantasizes of a father who loved me and a boy I'd wanted to be mine.'
Finley was stubborn but also a very brave and tough girl. I was in awe of her and of how she handled all the pressure and everything she had to deal with as the only girl around the boys.

Shepard was not easy to pin down because he was a great but rather normal kind of guy, he was one to stand back and assess situations first as opposed to August who had a very short temper, and Cooper the recluse who was the quiet and shy kind of guy. When it came to Finley though, all three of them didn't hesitate to stand in front of her for protection. While August and Cooper were her brothers, their friend Shepard has been in love with her for years. Since he didn't know if she reciprocated his feelings and he also didn't want to destroy his friendship with the boys, he'd only been pinning for her from afar.

Like typical teenagers, they didn’t talk about their feelings which led to a lot of misunderstandings and so many wrong conclusions. I loved that Finn was there to be the voice of reason and for the great conversations with him.

Oh to be young again. All the heartbreak and tough decisions. I didn’t envy them and even got frustrated to the point where I wanted to yell at them to just finally tell each other how they felt. Well, of course that would have been too easy and I was sitting on pins and needles until it was time for them to finally be together. Obviously, I rooted for them because I was a fan of them since the very beginning.

I loved the story and couldn't put it down with all the added drama that unfolded. It was nerve-wracking to follow all the lies and false accusation to the point of destroying a person’s life. Thank god for all the friends who had each other's back because that's invaluable.

The book had a familiar feel to it as the characters felt very similar to Ashton, Chance and Sawyer, plus the same environment at the University. But don't let this keep you from reading this book because after a few chapters, it didn't feel that way anymore as it obviously was a different story with different characters.

There were some football games in this book, what with all of them playing, which I loved especially because of Finley and how protective her guys were of her. I don’t know much about the sport but it was well enough explained, so even if you’re not into sports, this was an amazing read you really should consider reading! And if you loved Chance's book, you'll love this one as well.

Cooper the recluse reminded me a bit of Ashton which was probably why I felt an instant connection to him. I love him already and can’t wait for his book especially because this story hinted at August's and Cooper’s coming stories but nothing concrete was revealed.

-- I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book given by the author. --

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

Excerpt:

There was an urgency surrounding Bae’s guards as they began to pack the luggage into the procession of carriages that would take them to Nun or at least as close to the mountain range as they could safely get without the aid of the Nunsmen. Even the low ranging hills that ran the path towards the higher mountains were dangerous to traipse through, although compared to the highest of Nun peaks they were child’s play.
Bae could only hope that her emissary would be able to arrange for safe escort through the mountains at such short notice. Nunsalem, the Nunman who was supposed to be attending them, would not be expecting them for another ten days.
Bae knew that leaving Laoshi so soon after the Claiming would not be well received by the Laoshian Ren. She hadn’t even had an opportunity to hold court in the city before she was preparing to leave. It was hard to believe that the Laoshians wouldn’t resent her for it. The time following each Claiming was an opportunity to build bonds of friendship and loyalty with each of the tribelands so to leave now was a horrific snub but Bae had no choice.
Her schedule had been completely thrown aside this morning when her elder brother, her Chief Protector, had knocked on her bedchamber door to announce news from Kumai. There had been an attack on several of her Kumaian suitors and it was completely possible that her yet to be claimed Kumaian mate was amongst those hurt.
That knowledge had her blood boiling with anger and her magic sizzling with a strong need to claim him as her own.
Threatful, Bae was stood watch as her belongings were loaded into the carriages. Her mind was disordered as she tried to process everything that had happened in the small period of time that had passed since her Commencement. She had been Kumari for just over a month and yet so much had happened.
Much of it didn’t make sense.
She’d hoped that Laoshi would hold some of the answers in its many libraries but what information she had been able to garner had done little to alleviate her concerns. If anything, her fears had grown rather than diminish. She felt as if she was racing against an enemy whose speed she could not gage.
It was now clear why her advisors believed her to be the Kumari that the prophecies spoke of. Her destiny had been predetermined by the death of her mother. There were countless prophecies surrounding the line of the Kumari but over four fifths of them were relating to a single queen.
Those prophecies were far harder to swallow than the others.
They were darker, speaking of unknown evils and the potential destruction of the realm and even the eradication of magic. It was not a destiny that Bae wanted, but it was the one that had been allotted her if the prophecies were to be believed. Bae wished that she could deny them, call them falsehoods but everything that had happened and even the words of the Kitsune on the night of her Commencement made sense only in the light of the prophecies.
Even at its very beginning, her reign felt tainted by the prophecies that surrounded it and the death that they foretold.

About the author:

Hanleigh is a British author. She was born in Scotland but has lived near enough her whole life in the South of England, although she recently moved to the Midlands. Hanleigh loves reading books more than anything in the world; whether it’s reading them or writing them, Hanleigh just can’t get enough.

She relishes in the way authors can create whole worlds with the words they put in their books. She wishes that being an author really was magic, just like Once Upon A Time. Hanleigh absolutely adores Romantic fiction. She first fell in love with literature as a small child reading Dr Zeuss. She then fell in love with romance as a genre when she first read Pride In Prejudice by Jane Austen. She checks every five-pound note for Austen’s face but has yet to find her £50,000 five-pound note. Shame.

Hanleigh is about as English as it’s possible to be, which is highly ironic as she isn’t English at all. She sometimes wishes she could live inside the world that she can create inside her mind, but since that isn’t possible she puts pen to paper and shares that world with this world instead.

Why Hanleigh Writes:
When you read a book, your imagination introduces you to a new world. A world that may well be completely different to the one you live in. When you read a book the words of the author bring that world to life. How many times have you read a book or watched a film and found yourself dreaming about it? Your imagination making it a reality. The world the words create is captivating. It catches your attention and works hard to keep it.

There is one thing that is more tantalizing than entering someone else’s imaginings, creating your own. There is something addictive about being able to mould your words into something that causes the reader to fall into your mind. When you put pen to paper and create a world, it’s exhilarating.

Every word has meaning. You know every character intimately. You know every secret, every whisper, every smell, every look, as the author you know the world you created and more so than even the most avid of readers you can get lost in your creation. I guess you could say, I’m a bit of a dreamer.

When Hanleigh Started Writing:
I first started writing as a kid. I was addicted to reading but could never put a story down even when it was finished, so I’d just add a bit more on the end. I was the geek that sat and wrote FanFiction. Now you know just how cool I really am. Then when I went into the wider world and grew up I stopped for a while, until one day I thought heck what if I wrote all these ideas down and somewhere amongst all those ideas I realised there was a whole world of characters just waiting to have their stories told. So here I am, Author In Progress.

Excerpt:

“Maverick, it’s me. Everly.”
He opened his eyes expecting to see flashes of gunfire and explosions from IED’s. Instead, he looked into delicate features, eyes warm with concern. “Everly?”
“You were dreaming,” she whispered.
Fuck, he was dreaming now. “What are you doing here?”
She kept her hand on Maverick, seeking to soothe him. “I heard you through the wall.” Standing up, she stood next to the bed. “Do you want some water before I go?”
“Did I hurt you?” He grabbed her hand, pulling her back down to sit on the bed.
She twined her fingers with his. “No, of course not.”
“Don’t go.” His hand came up to weave itself in her hair. “Where’s the whale spout, Tink?”
“What are you doing?” she whispered as his other hand skimmed up under her shirt, caressing the soft skin of her back.
“I need you,” he pulled her head down until their lips met.
Now Everly thought she was the one who must be dreaming. Could this be real? His mouth moved on hers, a gentle graze that made it hard to breathe. She wanted to kiss him back so badly she could die.
“Open.”
His demand made every nerve ending in her body spark to life. There was no way on God’s green earth she could resist this man, she wanted him too much. Tentatively, she responded to his strength, his passion. Parting her lips, she touched the tip of her tongue to his and he groaned, pulling her to the bed beside him. Everly’s blood raced through her veins. She craved him – she craved his touch and she craved to touch him. Clutching his shoulders, she began to kiss him back with desperate intensity.
Her surrender seemed to free something within him. Maverick began to devour her lips and she trembled as his big hands roamed all over her body. Never had she been kissed this way. His mouth on hers was the single most wonderful thing that had ever happened to her.
A haze of desire clouded Maverick’s brain. Her body was soft and warm as his mouth blazed a trail across her face and down her throat. When his lips brushed the pulse point that betrayed her excitement, he knew he wanted more. Feeling the evidence of her surrender beating against his lips sent a hot rush of hunger to his cock.
“You feel so good, baby.” Returning his mouth to hers, he kissed her as his hand found her breast underneath her shirt. Cupping the small mound, he pulled and tweaked the nipple until she shivered in his arms. When he removed his hand, she whimpered her disappointment until his teasing touch edged up her thigh.
“Maverick?”
“Shhhh, this dream is so much better than the one I just left.” Waking up wasn’t an option. He wanted this, he needed this. The fire between them was so unexpected he was shaking from it. His fingers were hovering very near paradise. He could already feel her heat. “Do you want me?” Please, God, say yes.
“Oh, yes, I want you.”
Maverick tried to catch his breath. “Take this off.” He tugged on her shirt.
Everly sat up, glancing around the room, then at him. There wasn’t a lot of light in the room, but he’d be able to see her well enough. “Are you sure?”
“Now.”
She was of the firm opinion that she looked better clothed than naked, but his insistence pushed her doubts away. Skimming the shirt over her head, one hand instinctively came up to cover her breasts.
“Don’t. I need this,” he muttered, grasping the offending arm blocking his view and pushing it over her head. In the dim light, his eyes focused on her breasts. Bending his head, he brushed his face against their soft swell, letting his lips rub over them. The woman was petal soft all over.
Her breasts swelled at his touch, she couldn’t believe this was happening. Her voice caught in her throat, but she managed to speak. “Maverick?”
“Hush.” He rubbed his thumb over her nipple, his mouth crashing into hers, kissing Everly until she had no breath left.
Everly thought she would swoon. Her whole body lifted to his as he stroked and teased her breasts. She was shaking with need when his mouth finally closed over the aching peak, sucking the tender bud between his lips, grazing it lightly with his teeth. With a moan, she clutched his shoulders even as he passed a soothing lick over the sensitive spot.
Maverick was consumed with desire. He wanted all of her. Bare breasts. Swollen lips. She was amazing and totally at his mercy. With unsteady hands, he covered her tits – cupping, kneading, relishing their weight and warmth. “Feel good?”
“Oh, yes,” she moaned, arching her back.
This was a fantasy, it had to be. His blood pounded through his head making him dizzy as he felt her gasp when he closed his lips around her, taking as much of her delectable tit into his mouth as he could. Her hands clasped his head, she begged for more and Maverick thought he would cum on the sheets if he didn’t get inside of her soon.
“I can’t wait,” he murmured, rising into position over her. The lights from outside filtered through the drapes and he could see her face with her heart in her eyes.
“Don’t wait.” Maverick couldn’t misinterpret the invitation when she shed a tiny pair of panties, then wrapped her legs around his hips. “I want you so much. Just remember, I’m not too good at this.”
“Experience not required.” Running a hand between them, he made sure she was wet. Oh, hell yeah. She was ready and he was trembling, burning and aching to bury himself deep inside of her. Going to his knees, he took himself in hand, gliding the head of his cock through the slick heat of her pussy. Maverick held himself steady, muscles quivering, as he pressed into her, working himself in inch by inch. She was small and tight. His eyes crossed from the pleasure. “Okay?”
“I’m good.”
Yes, she was. Her little body seemed to grasp onto his greedily, as he pulled out, then slid all the way back in. “Oh, fuck,” he moaned, holding himself stiff. Supporting his weight by his arms, he gave himself time to get a grip. Beneath him, she wasn’t still. She held onto him tightly, urging him to move. And when he did – rocking, pumping – bucking his hips, the pleasure on her face was the biggest aphrodisiac of all. This was so good. He wanted it to last as long as possible.
But his body had other ideas.
Once he got started, he couldn’t stop or slow down. Maverick was helpless in the grip of ecstasy. He thrust deep, pumping harder, faster until she cried out, bowing her back and quivering in his arms. He was powerless but to follow, completely lost in the wonder of his midnight dream.
After he’d cum, Maverick pulled her into his embrace, the act of release seeming to give him peace. Everly held him close, marveling at what had transpired. A small smile played on her lips. Tingles of elation mixed with shivers of remorse. He’d been in the throes of a nightmare when she’d come to his bed, offering him comfort. Oh, he’d taken it all right. The only problem was that Everly wasn’t sure this was something he’d have done in any other circumstance.
Easing out from under him, she made a grab for her shirt, pulling it over her head. When he didn’t move, she felt around in the bed for her panties, but found nothing. “Dang it,” she whispered, then froze when he moved again, his hand running over the covers. Was he looking for her?
No matter, he wouldn’t find her.
Coward that she was, Everly Winterfell backed out of Maverick’s room and retreated to the safety of her own apartment.
The cold light of day would tell the tale. If what they’d done together meant something to him, he’d let her know.
And if it didn’t….
Well, she’d deal with that when the time came.

Release Blitz: Wanted Too by Dee Palmer

Wanted Too
by Dee Palmer
Series: Wanted Trilogy #2
Genre: Contemporary Romance / Erotic Romance
Release Date: February 10th, 2019

 Blurb:

Not every Prince is charming…

How long does it take to fall in love?

For my best friend Finn her fairytale took a little time: Now she lives out her HEA with her 4 ‘husbands’ on the ranch where all the magic happened.

For me, it’s more complicated:
When it comes to romance, I have a fixed and final to-don’t list.

Don’t do fairy tales
Don’t do love
Don’t do happy ever after’s

I’m a party girl.
Sex is my favourite pastime, work is my passion
And finalising this deal with Jorgen is my mission.

Jorgen Jensen is Danish royalty.
Rude, rich and secretive.
He’s also too hot for my own good and has a mission all his own in mind.

One month with him in paradise.
One month to play.
One month to change my mind.

When I find myself on Finn’s doorstep I’m a little dazed and confused and a lot desperate to forget.
I need my friend, I need a distraction
And I need to keep my mouth shut about my mistake.

That shouldn’t be too hard?

I love just three things, my best friend Finn, my mum and my life.

I’ve busted my butt growing the business my mum started when I was a kid and it’s about to pay off, big time. Securing a multi-million pound investment with an elusive sex-god CEO is just step one . Unfortunately, that step is one giant leap I’m not remotely ready for.

Business man and Danish ‘royalty’ Jorgen Jensen is a threat to my senses and sanity. He’s also a threat to my rules and is way too easy on the eye. Although he’s not ‘technically’ my boss, he’s the money and that makes him off limits.

Rule one: ‘don’t shit where you eat’.
I’ve worked too hard to mess this up with sex, even phenomenal sex isn’t worth it and just looking at him I know that’s all this would ever be… phenomenal sex.

However, when circumstances change, I’m tempted and agree to accept the challenge of a lifetime. After all, it’s only one month, with a Nordic god, in paradise. There are worse ways to prove there’s no such thing as love and a happily ever after for someone like me.

Who knew being right would hurt so much?

Landing on Finn’s doorstep, too ashamed to tell the truth and with my to don’t list in tatters, I really need a place to hide, to forget and to move on and where better than over the pond at my best friends Californian ranch with her four husbands.

Release Blitz & Book Review: Tanner by Jeannine Colette and Lauren Runow

Tanner: A Sexton Brothers Novel
by Jeannine Colette and Lauren Runow
Age Group: Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 7th, 2019

Blurb:

“A kiss was all I needed.”
“Looks like you got what you wished for.”
“Yes. About that…”

I was supposed to find a finely dressed businessman, have a one-night stand and forget about my failed relationship. Instead, I meet Tanner Sexton—a gorgeous man in street clothes, messy hair and the sexiest smile I’ve ever seen.

When my ex shows up at the bar, Tanner notices my panic and kisses me just so the prick can see. Then he takes off, leaving me breathless.

So, I do what any rational person would. I chase after him onto the subway, and embark on a wild night in New York City with a complete stranger.

No matter how much I fight it, this mysterious artist painted his soul onto my skin, and I haven’t been able to forget him. Our romance is one for the ages, but age isn’t the only thing standing in our way.

 My review:
'”Are you ready to rewrite your story?”'
♥ Tanner alias Thor was probably the hottest man of the Sexton brothers. I’m not sure though if he could kick Bryce from the top because he’d set the bar very high. But they were so different from each other, not only by age but also their characteristics, and I am a greedy woman so I just want them both. =P
'He's a gorgeous, expressive, talented, soul-igniting man who set me on fire.'
I absolutely loved how passionate and caring Tanner was. He was so smart and very talented with his body and mind, so very special with his creativity and art. He swept me off my feet and I was like melting chocolate in his hands. I envied Harper for how lucky she was because I'd have given anything to have him paint me. =P SO HOT! #favorite
'I've never in my life been kissed with as much passion and conviction as I just was by a complete stranger.'
I devoured this book. It completely enchanted me and had me feeling all the feels. I wasn’t sure if my heart could take any more because Tanner was like the most perfect hero. This story was so perfectly written, it had me swooning, laughing, crying, and most of all falling in love with its characters.

I'm going to miss these brothers so much.

The story had me captured right from the start. I loved how Harper and Tanner met at the bar without the cliché pick-up lines and intentions of an easy lay. I loved how unexpected and magical their unforgettable evening turned out to be.
'This man can caress me so intimately, caressing me with his kisses and touches, loving me with his glances and words.'
Tanner studied in New York because he loved the freedom that nobody knew him here, whereas back at home his wealthy family was well known due to their successful media company.
I loved how mature he was for his age and that he and Harper fit together so well. I was also very happy about the setting outside of San Francisco because the previous two books had been set around the company and all the drama going on with the family. So I was very glad that Tanner and Harper could find to each other almost without much influence from all the family drama for a while. If you've read the previous two books, you'll know what I’m talking about, and if you’re new to this world, then hold on tight because this drama had its heartbreaking showdown in this book.
The ending broke my heart for the boys and I cried so hard. But I loved the epilogue which was a fantastic ending to this amazing series.
'He has a powerful presence, yet, when I'm this close, I can see a vulnerability to him.'
I'm a huge Friends fan myself, so I loved all the references in this book. I also had an instant connection with Harper’s character because of it.
'We're two strangers on a train, knowing that whatever we decide in the next moment might dictate our fate for the rest of our lives.'
I don't even know what else to say. I was flipping through the book again to help me find some words for my review but all I could do was admire the beautiful words that were written. So all I can say is read this book! Even if you haven't read the previous ones (although you really miss out on some great stories), you need to pick up this wonderful book.

I hope these authors will co-write more books together because they definitely created magic with this one.
