Welcome to the Dark Side
by Giana Darling
Series:
The Fallen Men Series #2
Genre: Erotic Romance
Release Date: April 20th, 2018

Blurb:

I was a good girl.

I ate my vegetables, volunteered at the local autism centre and sat in the front pew of church every Sunday.

Then, I got cancer.

What the hell kind of reward was that for a boring life well lived?

I was a seventeen-year-old paradigm of virtue and I was tired of it.

So, when I finally ran into the man I'd been writing to since he saved my life as a little girl and he offered to show me the dark side of life before I left it for good, I said yes.

Only, I didn't know that Zeus Garro was the President of The Fallen MC and when you made a deal with a man who is worse than the devil, there was no going back...

This is Daddy Zeus Garro's story from Lessons In Corruption. A standalone in The Fallen Men Series.

My review:

One thing is for sure, I liked Zeus a lot more than King. Zeus was lethal and a manly man whereas King was still somewhat a kid compared to his dad and MC brothers. There’s just no one more alpha than Zeus Garro.

I was really excited for this book because although I usually steer clear of age-gap stories, I don’t mind it as much when the guy’s older. Anyway, after Lessons in Corruption I knew that I had to read Zeus story because come on! This biker's the full package.
'A fallen angel. A monster, but a good one under all the scary.'
What can I say?! I get weak in the knees when it comes to men like Zeus Garro. He’s no bad boy but a monster that could kill you bare-handed. The dark ones are just more fascinating than any other guys. I don’t think I’ve ever read about a character similar to Zeus. He’s one of a kind. You definitely need to be open to stuff like all-alpha, demanding, fierce and protective men because if you don’t like a Christian Grey or any other dominant character, you will have a problem here with caveman Zeus Garro. But who knows, maybe he will just show you how good it is with a man like him =P
'Now I knew what deity I'd pray to and die trying to please. Zeus Garro.'
The Story:
Lou would be the typical girl everyone envies because she has the looks, brain and wealthy family most people only dream of. But there’s nothing perfect about her life. Lou’s parents don’t show her the love and care a daughter should receive but only parade her around when they need her to. And looks change especially when undergoing chemotherapy, because Lou has cancer. Wanting nothing more than to break out of her family’s pretended perfectness, Lou is drawn to the dark and dangerous Prez of The Fallen MC. Although he’s a lot older than her and the exact opposite of a saint, she knows that life is short and she goes for what she wants no matter if he thinks she’s too young and too good for him. She’s determined to show him that he’s it for her.
'Too bad I was the kind of teenage girl who dreamed of men who could murder with their bare hands, who swore like it was essential to the English language and believed in brotherhood more than the law.'
Thoughts:
I love Giana’s writing. She writes in detail and doesn’t just scratch on the surface but dives into deep waters without it being too much. Her characters are way more complex than what they first appear to be and I loved the complexity of Zeus, he was the epitome of bad *evil grin*. And seriously?! This woman can write scenes so scorching hot you better have a fire-extinguisher nearby. *fanning myself*
'I clenched my fists against the impulse to throw her over my shoulder and spear her on my cock right there against the wall in front of everyone, so they would know she was mine.'
I only wish it was more fast paced because the story sometimes felt a bit slow; and I wasn’t fond of the Silence-of-the-Lambs-vibe.

Apart from that, everything else about this story was intense. The men, the sex, the feelings, the brutality of MC life. It was so very dirty and very hot. I loved it in the end but it wasn’t an all-consuming love because I needed some time to warm up to it and wasn’t as captivated by the story as some other readers obviously were.
'With or without me, Loulou Lafayette was going over to the dark side. And I'd decided I'd be the welcoming committee.'
