I don’t believe in Prince Charming, but when I met a handsome stranger on a rooftop his words intrigued me and his dares left nothing but temptation.
Then I learned the truth.
His name is Bryce Sexton. Media mogul, workaholic and a heart of stone. He’s broody AF and yet every woman in San Francisco wants him.
Wherever I go, he’s there, trying to force his way into my world. What he doesn’t know is I already have a man in my life. A tiny redhead who loves Legos and Superheroes.
With every push, Bryce pulls me in further. Our pasts are laced with betrayal. Our futures are unpredictable. Our chemistry is explosive.
With each dare I uncover a truth, but he's exactly what I don’t need right now.
Austin
Sexton is the man I’ve always tried to stay away from. He’s arrogant,
entitled and a total ass. That’s why I didn’t bother giving him my name
last night. We’ll never see each other again.
Or so I thought.
Imagine
my surprise when I start my new job only to come face-to-face with the
blue eyes I just declared all wrong for me. No, he’s not my boss, but
being my boss’ brother seems almost worse.
No matter
how hard I try to push him away, his secrets draw me in. When it comes
to a Sexton that could be lethal...for my heart.
I have his secrets and I won’t tell a soul. Now I just have to not fall for him completely.

My review:
Looking for your next book boyfriend?! Sorry, this one’s already taken. =P
Well,
damn! That’s how you court a woman! Show her some love and compliment
her. You don’t have to be flawless or rich but have her best interest at
heart. Give her your love, attention and time. That’s invaluable and
Bryce did it all right.
‘He knew things about me just by paying attention.’
I
loved it! Tessa was no fool and surely able to save herself. She was a
strong woman and didn’t need a hero but superman was just so damn
irresistible.
Tessa and Bryce met accidentally when their emotions
were in a whirlwind and they actually wanted to be alone for a moment
to gather their thoughts. What they didn't count on was that they would
meet someone to set off another range of emotions inside the other, but
Tessa’s heart belonged to only one man. Charlie, her son, meant the
world to her but he’s only part of the reason why she didn’t date. When a
charming man with stalking tendencies appeared in her life, she was
torn between how good he made her feel and keeping herself safe from yet
another heartbreak.
‘For a moment, I let my guard down, and of course, he swooped in with his charm and wit.’
I was very intrigued by Bryce in Austin's story and had a feeling that he would be a great hero. Boy was I right.
Bryce
Sexton was one of a kind. I loved how determined, straightforward and
stubborn yet still attentive and thoughtful he went after what he
wanted, even when he treaded in uncharted territory.
‘It’s interesting how someone who can seem so put together, who appears to have it all, can be so tied up on the inside.’
This book was full of fantastic characters, wonderful moments and emotional ups and downs due to the ongoing family drama.
I
absolutely loved how Bryce and Tessa met. It was somewhat magical and
fun to have them playing truth or dare. Add in Charlie and the story had
the full package.
Bryce wasn’t a know-it-all person
but he was all-consuming, confident, smart, very clever and handsome. He
was a workaholic though he never shied away from obstacles in life but
took them in great strides. I liked how he reacted in situations that
were new to him and how he handled them all so well even though they
took him by surprise at times. He really was determined to battle all
problems; I gotta leave him that, but I guess he was used to stressful
situations from his job.
He really had great moments and I loved
how he expressed his feelings. He never had to work hard to get a
woman’s attention before so he didn’t always do it right but he damn
well tried very hard and I adored him so much. He was not only a good
listener but he remembered what she told him and really payed attention
to her. The way to a lady’s heart.
‘”Treat your woman as if she is the breath you’ll take when you have run out of your own.”’
Bryce
was the man we all had been waiting for. Superman aka Bryce Sexton with
his sextillion. HAHAHAHA I can’t help but think about him sitting at
home in his sweatpants wearing his sexy black framed glasses. And I
obviously can’t stop talking about him. He always knew the right things
to say and really had a way with words that made me wish for a man too
who said all those wonderful things to me. Bryce really went above and
beyond for Tessa and took a lot of time out of his busy life for her. (I
may be more in love with him than the story. Oops.)
‘”A man will do anything, even create the greatest sin for all mankind, to impress a beautiful woman.”’
Tessa
seemed to be a careful person, having learned her lessons in life but
even though she was self-conscious in some way, she was still confident
in her abilities. Tessa had Bryce really working for it and he didn’t
took it as a challenge but really wanted to get to know her and was set
in his ways to show her that he wasn’t like all the other men.
Especially since any other man would have let her go already but Bryce
fought so hard for her where most wouldn’t have bothered for so long
with all the hassle. He never undermined but encouraged her and he was
really smitten with Tessa which made him show some of his soft side when
he acted all nervous like a teenage boy with his first love.
‘Damn you, Bryce Sexton, and your words.’
Austin
was obviously also part of this book and even showed his authoritative
side once and I have to say that it was such a turn on to see him like
that. I wish there was more of this in his story.
Charlie was a
great boy. He was so smart, funny and well-behaved. I also liked Abby,
Tessa’s friend and neighbor. She was often the needed push in the right
direction for Tessa. And then there was the Sexton family, still
fighting each other and rattled to their core because of Missy. I am
intrigued by the hints in this story which will hopefully have a good
outcome in the next book.
What I absolutely did not see coming was the ending. Way to go Tanner. Bring it on.
