My review:

This book was hard to rate. It was dark and twisted and I'm obsessed with those kinds of books but there were some things in this one that just didn't do it for me.

I love dark reads and I love the utter dark and dangerous twisted ways that an author can get the characters to go through. Like I said before, this story was so hard to rate because in a twisted crazy way I loved how dark it was but some things just bothered me. And it wasn’t as much the dark stuff although one part was a bit over the top crazy (not the sexual kind). But I gotta give the authors credit for all the stuff that made the story unique and thrilling.

I was not crazy about the fact that they were kidnapped as friends and forced to have sex. I mean, how awful could that be? Yeah there were some horrendous things in this book which I don’t want to spoil but I’d rather be forced to have sex with my best friend – which I love and find attractive anyway – than to have sex with an ugly, disgusting person I don’t know. So far, so good.

Ivy has always been attracted to Noah and she always tried to ignore it and keep her distance. But now she’s being forced to be sexually active with her best friend which seems so easy but is so hard at the same time for them.

Their captor is playing games with Ivy and Noah and neither those two nor the reader knows what will happen next. This story is very original and suspenseful and ends in a cliffhanger which will have you wanting more. I definitely need to know how their story continues and I really wanna know what the captor is up to and especially who it is.

The Story:

Drugged. Kidnapped. Being forced to have sex. And those aren’t the only things Ivy has to deal with in one day. She’s being held captive with her best friend in a room with no windows or doors. There’s no way out and they are being watched by a sick person who commands them what they should do to her entertainment.

You might think it’s easy to withstand the commands? How about some torture and threats that will make you stop thinking instantly and have you do whatever was being asked of you? This twisted game becomes more dangerous with each second. How will Ivy and Noah handle the situation their thrown into?

Thoughts:

First of all, I thought that this couldn't be so bad now, could it?!! I mean, no one wants to be kidnapped but they liked each other and wanted more from each other but both seemed oblivious about the other's feelings. So now it was the perfect opportunity for them to explore each other with the excuse that they were forced to do it.

I didn't quite like that it seemed so easy. They made out instantly and all the crying out and moaning without even yet kissing (especially on her part), and almost climaxing while kissing was a little over the top, especially under those circumstances. She was constantly crying out of pleasure and whatnot. I don’t know if I could be so sexed up under those conditions. My main emotion would be fear, not pleasure.

Be prepared that there are some horrific scenes in this book that aren't for the faint of heart! Even I was a bit shocked by the extent of the very sick games for the captor's entertaining.

This was some really effed up read and even now I'm not sure if I should love or hate it. It was something completely different to the stuff I've read so far but some things just bothered me. Like, how old where they? What did they do before they were kidnapped? She was talking about him as a man and he obviously had the body of a grown up. But she behaved like a kid in heat. It was like every touch brought her to climax and a kiss was the climax par excellence. He didn’t even touch her and she was wet already?! How could they have been best friends for years when she was this hot for him? It just took a touch or kiss for her to almost climax. He must have noticed that before for sure.

Anyway, I'm just a bit hung up on the friend's stuff but I still enjoyed this book because it kept me glued to the pages. It was suspenseful from start to finish and I'm sure the next book will be at least as thrilling if not more as this one because it's just a matter of time for all the tension to explode.

My review: 

This was a dark read, all right, and I loved it! I loved the dark parts the most (Do I feel bad about that? Maybe I should, but I don’t.)

The plot was really good and if you like dark reads, this will be a great addition to your collection.

Although I think there was still room to go further/darker. (Or maybe I’m just so used to the extreme dark ones that scare lots of other people off.) This was still a dark read but I think it wasn't too much to handle. (This is nothing negative just something to consider in case you prefer the extreme.) If you haven't tried dark books before, I think this is a good book to try out this genre.

I really enjoyed this story and its fast pace. One could think that the story was predictable and to a certain degree it might had been but there were some turns of events that I didn't see coming, which was nice as I don't like to know the full story right from the start.

The Story:

Jack saw his mother dying when he was a small boy. She was taken from him by his monster of a father and he now has to live in hell and has to endure the tortures from the devils his father makes business with. They pay high amounts of money and get off of abusing him and the other slaves. Jack might be strong enough to kill them but he promised to keep his brother save and he's the only reason why Jack still lets them have their way with him without him fighting back even when it gets harder to control his anger. But then, everything changes and his anger takes over his body. Will he make it out of this hellhole alive?

Thoughts:

Jack was a character that lived through hell and had to deal with mostly dark emotions. I liked his POV the most.

River was at first an admirable character because she seemed so strong to have grown and learned from other people’s mistakes and that she tried to help the ones that were mistreated. But later on she suddenly became weak and so strange. She seemed like a different woman and I wish she stayed the stronger character in this story and not changed rolls with Jack.

The only thing that bothered me a bit was that between certain scenes, the change was too sudden. Jack grew up in slavery and I thought that his recovery was a bit off. I just didn't buy his changes because it felt like he had not enough time and no reason to change. I'm sorry it's just not easy for me to explain this.

Anyway, I loved his POV and as hard as his life had been, I loved to read about the dark and ugly. They were well written and I would have loved even more of them. But like I said, the change felt too weird for me. I can't get into much detail because I don't want to give anything away.

I liked Adam's character and although I was shocked about something from Sophia (I liked her at first but now I don't) , I'm really looking forward to read the next book.

Book Review: His by Contract by Ava Sinclair

WOW! *fanning myself*

This was a quick and very hot read which should come with a warning like “Best to be enjoyed at home. Will most definitely drench your panties.”

To say it with the character's words “Now that is some hot yoga.” Indeed it was!!
If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be arousing. Wow. What a sexual explosion.

The Story:
Sloane Millbank is an independent woman and professional partner in a law firm who doesn't need anyone to tell her how to live her life or do her job. But when it comes to her sexual desires, she yearns to be dominated and for someone to push her past her limits. Mr. M is this someone to her. They have a contract which makes her his to do as he pleases within their agreed limits. Sloane is both excited and nervous about the things he wants to do to and with her but her journey of sexual exploration is better than anything she could have imagined.

Thoughts:
I was captured by the writing and loved how the characters were well attuned to each other. Both of them were strong characters and although Sloane submitted to Liam/Mr. M sexually, she always stayed true to herself. Giving up control felt empowering to her and it never made her weak which I really liked because in lots of stories, the submissive becomes weak when she's dominated and on her knees.

Mr. M was somewhat a mystery because the story was from Sloane's POV and he didn't tell anything about himself. So I didn't feel connected to him but I really liked his dominance except one part, but I guess that's just a question of taste and opinion.

Be aware of the fact that although there's not only sex in this book but a little background story on the characters and some emotions, it's definitely no sweet romance. This was an excellent erotic story which will have its reader's panties wet in no time at all.
