What a perfect little read. A suspenseful and fast-paced story that leaves nothing to be desired.
Have you ever felt as if something's missing even after you finished a book?! Well, I most often feel that way with short reads. Not so with this one though! I absolutely loved how it was a quick read but still a full story.
This action-packed novella had a great storyline, strong characters, lots of suspense, and the sexual tension definitely didn't come too short.
If you're new to this author, this is a great way to get to know her writing without having to invest a lot of time. And if you liked it, you can jump right into Adrenaline Secrets which is a full length novel about a different couple but plays in the same universe and will give you a lot more background on GovCorp and the Committee. I hope you'll give it a try because I’m truly fascinated by this series so far.
The Story:
Sela prefers to work alone but when Cruz was sent as her backup on a mission that’s a lot more personal to him than he'd have liked to, she has trouble trusting him due to her past experience. Being in an environment where she can’t trust anybody - not even her own partner - makes this mission hard enough. Having to deal with desire towards said partner takes this to a whole other level.
